FOOD, FAMILY FUN AND THE PERFECT EXCUSE TO HEAD INTO TOWN
Looking for an excuse to head into Dublin city for a weekend in September?
Discover Talbot Street is taking over one of the city’s best-known streets for a full weekend of food, music, family fun and plenty of surprises along the way.
Taking place on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September, this free weekend festival is all about seeing Talbot Street from a different perspective – and discovering just how much is happening along this lively stretch of Dublin 1.
Talbot Street is home to an incredible mix of cultures, and food will be a big part of the weekend. Visitors can explore the street’s global food offering, discover local businesses and sample delicious bites as they make their way from one end of the street to the other.
Rather than simply passing through, this is your chance to slow down, wander in somewhere new and discover a few spots you might just end up returning to.
Our suggestion? Bring a friend and make a food crawl out of it.
Discover Talbot Street is designed to be enjoyed by all ages, with workshops, interactive activities and play happening throughout the weekend.
Families can explore the street while dipping in and out of activities, performances and pop-up experiences along the way – so there’s no need for a complicated itinerary.
And it’s not all about the food. Across the weekend, Talbot Street will come alive with live music, dancing, art, creative installations, workshops and entertainment, alongside a special Gaeltacht experience bringing Gaeilge into the heart of Dublin city.
Activities will be spread throughout the street, turning the festival into one big journey of discovery rather than an event happening in just one location.
Thousands of us have walked along Talbot Street on the way to work, to catch a train or while heading somewhere else in town.
This weekend gives you a reason to make the street itself the destination.
Discover the independent businesses, meet people from the local community, try something you haven’t eaten before, catch a performance and spend an afternoon exploring a part of Dublin that’s packed with character.
And the best bit? IT’S A FREE ENTRY EVENT.
